Class C motor homes have an instantly recognizable silhouette. The cab, part of the original truck chassis, is covered by an overhang, or cab-over, that in most models houses a bed. Under the cab-over, a passageway leads into the body of the motor home, usually a step or two up from the driver’s compartment. The truck chassis, able to carry more weight, gives RV manufacturers the freedom to add more amenities. Sometimes the truck frames are extended, creating space for an additional bed in the back. Class Cs have a separate dining area, larger stove and refrigerator, and larger storage tanks for water, waste and propane. The bathrooms is larger, usually with a shower stall separate from the toilet. Storage is maximized, with plenty of cupboards and hiding spaces inside and several storage compartments outside. Some of the modern Class Cs are so large that they rival the Class A, or bus-style motor home, in space and amenities.

Class A motorhomes are built using a very strong, heavy-duty frame. These frames are built on either a commercial bus chassis, a commercial truck chassis, or a motor vehicle chassis. The 18-wheeler trucks use a similar build. The big, 22.5 inch wheels support the heavy load of the Class A motorhome. With 8-12 MPG, the Class A motorhome has the worst fuel economy. There are usually a minimum of two slide-outs. For quality and luxury, the Class A motorhome is the way to go. Plenty of storage space and a roomy interior are what defines the Class A motorhome. 2-6 people can sleep in the motorhome as there is a bedroom located in the back and couches that fold down into beds in the living room area. Class A motorhomes come with every luxury. A kitchen, bathroom with shower and often a tub -- even a separate bedroom in the back depending on the floor plan. Heating and air conditioning, hot and cold running water, 100-125 volt electrical system, a dinette or living room area with couch and recliners, closets, and an entertainment center. It's all possible. Many Class A motorhomes are far more luxurious than most homes!
